What We Believe As Moshiach Ministries

Moshiach Ministries is a Hebrew Messianic Congregation. Messianic is a term that many use to describe that they believe in the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus). Although this sounds simple in meaning, it is imperative that we define our beliefs because there are many that say the same, yet are very different. Firstly, we believe that Yeshua died for our sins and that the only way to receive salvation is through him (St. John 3:16). Very much the same as the apostolic doctrine, we also believe that He arose from the dead, symbolizing victory over sin and death. Now dwelling at the right hand of the Father, (a position of all power and authority),he serves as our high priest. We believe that He and the Father are the same, as well as the Holy Spirit, which he sent to us in order that it would live therein. As the Spirit dwells within us, it leads and directs us to do what he commands of us, leading us back to a relationship with Him. Without the Spirit of God we cannot be saved. After we have received his Spirit, we believe that we are to do the laws of Moses, called the Torah. It consist of 613 commands of the Creator, which are the 10 commandments received at Mt. Sinai(Ex.20:1-17). Unlike apostolic and Pentecostals, we believe that we are required to be obedient to the laws of Moses, only doing away with the sacrificing of bulls and goats. Yeshua became our sacrificial lamb, so there is no reason to sacrifice them seeing that it didn't please Him anyway (Heb.10:4). The observance of the Torah (old and new testaments) does not bring us salvation as the Jews believe. Yeshua stated that those that worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth (St. John 4:24). Therefore, we take both aspects of our Creator, (mother and father) spirit and truth, and worship accordingly (Ex. 20:12). Torah brings us blessing after that we have received Yeshua in our hearts. The Creator never intended for us to stop doing the Torah once we received His Spirit (Ez.36:26-27,Rom.6:1-15). The definition of sin is transgression of the Torah (what is called the Law), so why is it taught that we should not follow it? (1John 3:4) Misinterpretation of scripture is the cause of confusion among the church today. Because of stubbornness and a lack of knowledge, God's people are destroyed, partial, and immature in foundational teaching with a mixed worship doctrine. Not following the Sabbath, Feast and Festival Days, and the dietary laws (Torah), does not take away our salvation because it was never gained through doing them. Salvation is only gained through His son Yeshua. Blessing is come through the observing of Torah and curses through its disobedience (Deut.30:15-20).

Hebrew is a term that simply means to cross over. When we say that we are a Hebrew community, we are saying that we are crossing over from death to life, from darkness to light, from disobedience to trust grounded obedience (faith). Our goal is to return to the state of being in the image or likeness of our Creator, which is a Hebrew lifestyle with Hebraic roots and concepts (laws). We believe that this is achieved through the Torah and the Spirit. Speaking in tongues is a sign that the Spirit has entered a person, but it is not the only one. While we yet believe in the speaking of tongues as a gift of the Spirit, we must see the fruit of the Spirit (Yeshua's character) working in the individual (1Cor.13, Gal.5:22-23). Speaking in tongues edifies us in that the Spirit prays for us when we don't know what to pray for, but it should not be the only focus in our worship as others do. The working of the Torah is equally important in a Hebraic kingdom lifestyle. We believe that Hebrews are God's chosen people, which is Israel and not limited to just Jewish people. One may ask, "What is the difference?" Jews are but one tribe in Israel, thought to represent the whole house of Israel. But on the contrary, the majority of Israel was scattered throughout the whole world (Zec.7:13-14, Deut.30:1-3). We who are serving the Lord and are not Jewish, are known as Ephraim, the other house of Israel. It is stated that before the return of our Lord and Savior, we as the house of Ephraim will be gathered together with our brothers, the house of Judah (Ez.37:16-28). This has not been understood in today's church, believing that the church is not viewed as one with Israel. This form of thinking and teaching is called "dispensational theology/teaching." If we do not see ourselves as Israel, then there is no way that we can have a covenant with Him, for He has not made covenant with anyone outside of Israel (Eph.2:11-12). Dispensational teaching keeps us separated from our brothers, creating a separate group of elect, which is not biblical. The Creator is not coming back for 2 groups of elect, but one. There is only 2 races of people with God; a race of those that obey Him, and a race that doesn't. There is no more Jew nor Greek (Gal.3:28).

We call Jesus "Yeshua", because it is His original Hebrew name. It was changed because the rulers of this world at that time were Romans. Therefore, to associate the savior of the world to themselves, (an art of war to keep people in slavery), they gave Him a Greco-Roman name. Thanks be to Yah (God), He didn't save us according to what we know about Him, but by grace. Believing that the old and new testaments are one, we at Moshiach Ministries strive to return to our original Hebrew roots through the leading of the Holy Spirit; ushering in the kingdom of God in our lives as Yeshua being the King.

Hebrew Words For Praise

By Pastor Robert David Young

Hebrew:

Hebrew, ‘Ibhriy comes from the Hebrew root word ‘abhar which means, to pass or to cross over. The first mention of this root word in the Tanakh (Old Testament) is in Bere’shiyt 10:21 (Genesis), concerning Sheim (Shem) and his descendants. The word ‘eibher (eber), another form of ‘ibhriy, means side or region. Sheim was the primogenitor of all the descendants of ‘Eibher who lived across from the sons of Yephet (Japheth). ‘Eibher is the ancestor of ‘Abhraham (Abraham) called the ‘Ibhriy who is the great grandfather of Beneiy Yisra’el (The Children of Israel), the Hebrews.

Words:

The Tanakh was originally written in the Hebrew language, which is the building block to life and the spiritual channel through which the light of G-D can ascend and descend. In this language, letters become words, words form sentences, and sentences form paragraphs that express the thoughts of the mind, thich are then communicated verbally, in written form, or by action such as sign language. They are words of life, force, and energy (Yowchanan 6:63 [John]). The Tanakh was expressed from the mind of G-D, to the mouth of G-d, to the mind of man, then to the hand of man. The greatest expression is praise, which can be demonstated in a number of ways through song, dance, clapping of the hands, leaping, or shouting. These expressions of praises are not only for joy, but also warfare, giving us to ability to destroy the kingdom of darkness through praise. Our G-D is a god of action; His words are words of action, and this Hebrew language is a language of action.

Praise:

The Sepher Tehilliym (The Book of Psalms), mostly written by the sweet singer of Yisra’el, David, is actually comprised of five books of songs and praises. Book one consists of chapters 1-41, Book two 42-72, Book Three 73-89, Book four 90-106, and Book Five 107-150. Each book corresponds to the five Books of Mosheh (Moses) called the Towrah (Law)” Bere’shiyt, Shemowt, Vayiqra’, Bemidbar, and Debhariym (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy).

Looking at the book of praises and songs, we find expressions of praises of the King-Priest Ministry of David; however, by examining this book in the Hebrew language, we uncover an even greater meaning of true praise.

The Hebrew language is built upon a series of three letter verbs called root verbs. These root verbs not only form other verbs but also nouns and adjectives. For example; the Hebrew word for remember is zakhar, from which we get zeikher meaning remembrance and zikharown meaning, memorial, record.

In this new edition of “Hebrew Words for Praise,” proper nouns such as names and places have been written from the original Hebrew into a transliterated form, and is indicated by italicization. So, instead of Abraham you will see ‘Abhraham, Isaac will be Yitschaq, Israel will be Yisr’el, etc. It is important to note that Hebrew is written and read form right to left. Also a Hebrew ‘Aleph-Beiyt Chart has been provided to help and simplify your embarking on this fabulous journey to a more excellent praise.

Now, let us make the connection to the Life-force of Positive Energy Intelligence.

Halal:

Let us give consideration to the Hebrew words (debhariym ‘ibhriy) for praise beginning with Tehilliym 113:1-3 (Psalms),

“Haleluwyah! Give praise, O servants of YaHVeH, praise the name of YaHVeH. Blessed be the name of YaHVeH from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun to its setting. The name of YaHVeH is to be praised.”

The first root word for praise is HALAL, which profoundly means to boast, to rave, to shine, to be foolish, and to really celebrate. For example, in 2 Samuel 6:14, when David saw those who carried th ‘Arown ‘Elohiym (The Ark of G-D), he danced before the L-RD with all his might. David’s joy and excitement caused him to really celebrate by prancing and leaping. To his wife Miykhal (the carnal mind), it appeared as though he was acting in a shameless and foolish manner, but David understood his calling and he rejoiced in the L-RD of his salvation. In other words, he boasted, raved, and really celebrated G-D.

Once we understand the meaning of the word HALAL, we will no longer have a form of praise when we say, “Praise the L-RD”, but we will do exactly that and it will change our attitude toward one another in the assembly of G-D.

Now that we have given an explanation of the meaning of HALAL, it reveals to us what it means to do His will on earth as it is in Heaven. According to the first book of Kephah (1 Peter) chapter 2:9, which says:

“But you are a chosen people, the king’s priests, a holy nation, a people for ‘Elohiym to possess! Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”

Just as G’d called David, he has also called us to show forth His praises. In verse ten, the scripture goes on to say:

“Once you were not a people, but now you are people of ‘Elohiym: before, you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

Because we have been made priests unto G-D, we are to minister unto Him, meaning to declare that He is the absolute; worthy to receive adoration, praise, and glory.

To HALAL does something to the human flesh. For instance, when Miykhal saw David celebrating before the L-RD she responded negatively, but David replied, “Before G-D, Who chose me instead of your father and all his house to appoint me leader over G-D’s people Israel, I will play before G-D! And I whould lower myself even further, and become low in my own eyes…” In order for G-D to receive glory, the flesh must decrease and yield to the spirit (ruwach). Although the flesh doesn’t want to come under subjection to the spirit, G-D gives us his word which is the weapon of our warfare to aid in the battle against the flesh. The word of the L-RD is his spirit and where the spirit of the L-RD is there liberty.

“For the mind controlled by the old nature is hostile to ‘Elohiym, because it does not submit itself to Towrat ‘Elohiym – indeed it cannot.” –Romans 8:7

When you say Haleluwyah, what you’re actually saying is that “You Halal YaH, you boast YaH, you rave YaH, celebrate O servants of YaHVeH, celebrate the name of YaH, blessed be the name of YaH from this time forth and for evermore. How long? From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of YaH is to be celebrated, boasted, or receive rave reviews.

The root word HALAL also forms other words such as Hillel – to praise and he has praised. Hallel – praise; a group of psalms recited on the new moon and festivals. Tehillah – song of praise, psalm. The plural form Tehilliym is where the Book of Psalms comes from. When we read thse words with an understanding (biynah) of what praise means, we can see how much has been lost in the translation from the Hebrew to English.

The Garments of Praise:

An explanation of the Hebrew words Zamar, Yad, Shabhach, and Barakh, and other Hebrew expressions may be read in the book, “Hebrew Words for Praise,” by Robert David Young, of which the foregoing is an excerpt.
